- Safety and contra-indications: Cinnamon should never be used neat or undiluted at all. It is one of the strongest oils around and can cause very severe skin reactions. It should never be used in more than a .5% dilution. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. As with all oils, it is not meant for internal use. The bark is much more potent than the leaf, and the leaf is the preferred oil to use if even considering topical use.

- More Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil Information: Never use near mucous membranes like ears, eyes, nose and throat even when diluted. It is nice to use in a diffuser, especially at the time of year when everyone is bringing home nasty things none of us want to catch. It can be beneficial for the chest and lung area, to help relieve congestion. When using a diffuser mix with our eucalyptus, frankincense and lavender. If you want to use strong oils like cinnamon, vetiver, clove have a designated diffuser for those types of oils. Then, use another diffuser for more mild oils like lavender, orange, chamomile, sandalwood, clary sage, and ylang ylang. Cinnamon can be very stimulating and energizing for a massage and body oil formula, and can help enliven sore muscles and joints. It has been used in amorous massage oils, but in very small amounts and then at a very low dilution. It is an extremely odiferous oil as well, and there is no need to have a large amount in any blend, as it can overtake the whole formula. Pair with jasmine, rose, cardamom and ylang ylang for a decided ‘Ooo La La’!
