Safety and contra-indications: Should not be used on babies, children or teenagers. This is due to the wintergreen in the formula. Wintergreen can have drug interactions, may inhibit blood clotting, toxicity, high doses are teratogenic. Should not be used while pregnant, lactating or breastfeeding, while taking anticoagulant medication, during or after major surgery, hemophilia, other bleeding disorders, people with salicylate sensitivity (often applies in ADD/ADHD). Child Safety: Should not be used on babies or children under any circumstance, even in a diffuser or diluted in a carrier it can be toxic due to the wintergreen.
Suggested use: Put a few drops in a diffuser and just breathe it in a few times every hour. Because of the stimulating oils in this blend, some people should take care not to use before bed. If seeking similar relief at bedtime try a combo of some of our gorgeous lavender, clary sage and Roman chamomile. If none of the safety and contra-indications listed above apply to you, then you can make a blend with one of our carriers such as jojoba, coconut or almond and put a total of 15 drops in a 1 ounce bottle of a carrier. You can also use with some perfumer’s alcohol or grape based vodka to make a 1ounce body mist. Do not use near mucous membranes such as eyes, ears, nose and throat.
Contains: Head Relief contains Basil, Frankincense, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sweet Marjoram, Sweet Orange and Wintergreen. This is an undiluted synergy, so needs to be diluted with one of our carrier oils. We recommend jojoba, rosehip seed, coconut or almond. Try a combination of a few different ones. Jojoba is a liquid wax so it does not go rancid, use some in every blend to preserve the blend.
Take care: Do not apply without a carrier such as jojoba, bath salts or any unscented product like lotion or shampoo. Do not use with infants and children without instruction, and if so at a greatly diluted ratio of .5% or less. The recommendation for topical use is from 3 to 5 % for most people. However, take care if you are elderly or are ill. If you have a reaction to it, stop using and immediately contact a medical professional. Not for internal use unless under the guidelines of an aromatherapist. Remember that essential oils and absolutes are 75 to 100 times stronger than the plant they come from, so they are very different than an herbal or other natural preparation.
